  • Be aware of the power sliding doors

By Toyota owner on Wednesday, June 05, 2019

    3.0
Especially 2015 models have many problems with power sliding doors. They do recall , however there is no evidence of them have a contingent plan of fixing the problem. After calling the recall and dealer bring in the minivan , they can’t fix the problem in contrary they cause more complication and don’t warranty the performed work on trying to fix the problem. I also have heard they have same problem with other later models. Dealer don’t help , actually they complicate the recall work and warranty of the work performed, and Toyota consumer relations center USA don’t care at all. Now , power sliding doors are one of the reason for families with infant /children . To disregard on of the main reasons of purchasing this vehicle by the dealership and Toyota itself, it makes you look other strong competitors, Honda , even Kia has better service. Make sure you read about the problems they have with sliding doors before purchasing Toyota Sienna...there is other reliable companies out there. Check for your self.
  • NEVER buying another Toyota

By MB on Saturday, April 20, 2019

Bought 2019 Sienna XLE in December. This was my third Sienna in a row, and my 10th Toyota. I can’t drive ANYWHERE without dirt, or snow packing into wheels. The car has been in the shop for severe vibrations 7 times in 3 months. We got 1” of snow and I drove on plowed roads to store (10 miles) and couldn’t drive it back home because the vibrations were so severe a soda was shook out of the cup holder (I have a video). Toyota’s response “this isn’t a vehicle issue, you need to pressure wash your wheels once or twice a week”. I drove a different Sienna on exact roads, in exact conditions with ZERO issues but can’t go a week without driving issues with the new one. I even drove a Sienna through Yukon trail which included over 300 miles of dirt highway, no issues. Had to park in a dirt lot at an arena, just that caused vibrations on way home. Going to trade it in after 4 months and take the Toyota punch to the face with loss of value, NEVER again Toyota!!
  • Two bad transmissions under 80,000 miles.

First transmission bad at 50,000 miles. The replacement trans failed two years later at 80,000 miles. The replacement only had a 1 yr warranty. Reoccurring trend of drivetrain failures. 2012 Sienna AWD
